ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT: We Hit the Arts Jackpot at Bob Jones University’s in April

By D. Lanier Shook                       April 3, 2018

In the past two years I have actually attended more plays than movies. Its been fascinating. I enjoy movies, but there’s something … primal about attending a live play. Its like stepping back in time and among one of the best venues in the area to see one is Bob Jones University.

Bob Jones’ Fine Arts and Music departments are well known to be top notch, meaning any production they put on will be first class. I’ve seen Hamlet and Little Women there along with their Living Gallery Easter production. All were incredible and I enjoyed them immensely.

But Bob Jones offers more than just great plays. Their top notch music department is full of students who are busy demonstrating their talents to all who will listen. The month of April is chock full of music and drama — the good kind — at their campus on Wade Hampton Boulevard in Greenville. Obviously your schedule will determine which events you can enjoy but there should be one or two (or three or more) you can attend.

You will want to click here to view April’s Fine Arts Calendar. It list art exhibits, student recitals, symphonies, the USAF heritage of America band, and stage productions of Antigone and The Rainmaker. Once you’re at their website make sure to bookmark it, since once you attend one of these amazing productions you’ll go back again and again.
