ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT: Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium is the Place to be This Month

By D. Lanier Shook                              February 9, 2018

What are you going to do this weekend? How about next weekend? Or the next? The incredibly named crowdpleaser.com is one of the best websites for anyone in Western North Carolina or Upstate South Carolina. This is the homepage for the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium and is a portal to a list of events that will fill your itinerary whatever events you enjoy. Take a look at this list of events and you’ll see why I’m so excited about what Hub City has to offer.

February 10 Justin Moore will play the Auditorium on his latest American tour. If you like country music you need to check out this guy from Arkansas who sounds like a rising star in Nashville.

February 10 and 11 The Spring Home and Garden Show will be held here with room for nearly a hundred vendors. Parking and admission in FREE!

February 11 In The Mood is a musical revue celebrating the Big Bands of the Forties. Nearly a score of dancers and musicians will crowd the stage taking you back to a simpler time.

February 16-18 The Kids Artistic Review Dance Competition takes the stage in the Upstate, sweeping you off your feet with exciting, talented, dedicated young dancers.

February 16 – 18 Everybody has an old coin whether they’ve received it in change or inherited it. Come to the the Upstate SC Coin Show and find out how much its worth. This event is sponsored by both the  Greenville Coin Club and the Parker Coin Club.

February 20 ‘Guess Who Showed Up at Dinner’ is an inspiring play set right in Monck’s Corner. Its a story of family, fun, and finding your roots, all served up with a big helping of musical selections.

February 24 If you’ve ever heard the haunting tune “The Wreck of The Edmund Fitzgerald” you will understand why Gordon Lightfoot is called a legend. Join him for a evening of music that made him an artist noticed by the American Grammys (or would that be Grammies) and Canadian Junos.

March 2 If you’re a night owl be at the Memorial Auditorium at 9 pm on March 2 for the Mardi Gras Ball. The fun lasts until 2 am, which is when I’ll be asleep in bed.

These are just the great events this month. To find out more about any of these events click here to visit the Spartanburg Memorial Auditiorium’s website.
