Few sites are as iconic in our area as Grandfather Mountain. Between the Singing on the Mountain and the Swinging Bridge it’s as well known as nearly anything. Next month the folks on Grandfather Mountain will give your kids the opportunity to connect with the mountain and nature in general at the Grandfather Mountain Kidfest.
From 9 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon on Saturday September 6th kids can participate in a dozen different activities. Songs, science, animals, and crafts are a few of what kids can dig into. (Sometimes literally.) You can click here to visit the Kidfest website to find out about the activities, specific times, admission, and directions.
This is a great event because Grandfather Mountain is close enough to make it a day trip or far enough away to spend the night or weekend. Whether you want to pop up to Boone or head down to Hickory, the area is full of places to go and things to see. You can click here to learn more about Boone or click here to read a few of our articles about Hickory.
