Not long ago I was in a restaurant when a boy and his mother came in and sat down behind me. The young fellow had seen the movie Transformers 2 and was relating it in detail to his mother. As I enjoyed my meal I also enjoyed an experience as old as humanity itself: storytelling.
In just under two weeks you’ll be able to enjoy that tradition at a two day festival in Woodruff, South Carolina — just south of Spartanburg. The Stone Soup Storytelling Festival features experienced storytellers who are magicians of the spoken word. These folks know how to tell a good yarn and this year the Festival will have five of them.
Of course, the festival is about more than just stories. Over the two days it will features workshops for storytellers, a pancake breakfast, a 5K, and an craft sale. You can find out about all of the fun by clicking here to visit their website.
