VIDEO: 90mm Gate Guard in Elizabethton, Tennessee

By D. Lanier Shook                                              April 1, 2014

The 88 milimeter anti-aircraft gun was one of the most famous weapons of the Second World War. The video we just put up on our YouTube Channel shows you the American equivalent, a ninety millimeter anti-aircraft gun. You can click here to view the video or you can click here to read the Wikipedia article about this type of artillery piece.

The gun in the video is a gate guard at the Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Elizabethton, Tennessee. Specifically it’s located just west of the entrance to the Sycamore Shoals Historic site. Feel free to enjoy the video and several other videos of gate guards on the site. Here are a few:

An M728 Combat Engineering Vehicle in Morristown, Tennessee

A six inch World War One howitzer in Greenville, South Carolina

A M-60 tank at the Unicoi County War Memorial in Erwin, Tennessee
