By D. Lanier Shook                                                                 December 1, 2014

A week and a half isn’t long to plan for a Festival, but fortunately this Festival is only an hour and a half away. Its also worth attending because it just has so doggone much. And since the forecast is calling for cold but clear weather, so this Festival is one you’ll want to consider attending.

We’re talking about Winterfest in Blowing Rock, North Carolina. It’s a four day event that is full of incredibly impressive activities. Here’s a short list of what will be going on there from January 23 through 26.

  • A chili challenge and a pancake breakfast
  • A Polar Plunge
  • Hayrides and Bonfires
  • Ice Carving Demonstrations with the U.S. Army Special Forces Ice Carving Team
  • Winter Paws Dog Show
  • Cross Country Ski and Snow Exhibitions
  • Fashion Shows
  • and 27 other events!

Winterfest’s sponsors are equally impressive, including Charlotte Magazine, Winston Salem Monthly, Lake Norman Currents magazine, and the Presenting Sponsor, Hendrick’s Northlake Luxury Auto Mall. Between the sponsors, the events, and Blowing Rock itself there’s no doubt this will be a first class event you should seriously consider attending. It was voted one of America’s prettiest winter towns by Travel and Leisure magazine. (Click here to read the story.)

Therefore, you need to click here to visit Winterfest’s website. That’s where you’ll find ticket information, a list of venues, directions, lodging options, and even more.
