What’s the oldest house you’ve ever been in? In Asheville the Smith McDowell House and the Vance Birthplace are two of the older homes in the area that anyone can visit. Both are worth visiting for many reasons, including getting decorating ideas and learning about the past.

If you enjoy admiring the effort and creativity people put into decorations then you’ll be interested in touring the homes in Greenville’s Colonel Elias Earle Historic District. Greenville, South Carolina is a really happenin’ place, but  Many of the homes in and around the city are hundreds of years old. Fortunately for us, some of the current owners enjoy decorating them for the holidays and want you to help them help local charities while you enjoy those decorations.

You’ll want to click here to purchase tickets to tour five of these homes. Each one is from a different period of style going back two centuries — literally. These tickets will help the Salvation Army assist those in need during the holiday season and all year long.
