FESTIVAL: Two Great Festivals Land in Charleston Next Weekend

By D. Lanier Shook                                                                   November 8, 2013

How recently have you been to Charleston? I’m guessing it’s been too long. Well, next weekend is the perfect time to visit one of the greatest cities in the Southeast. That’s when a great music festival will be complimented with a great barbeque festival.

Jail Break is an incredible mix of music, comedy, dance, theater, and art. This year it brings five bands, nine comedians,  eight dance companies, a huge volume of art, and amazing theater. You can find out everything you need to know by clicking here to visit to their web site.

Nothing goes with great music, theater, art, and dance like good Carolina barbeque. That’s exactly what you’ll find at the 2013 Smoke on the Harbor BBQ Throwdown. Presented by BI-LO, this event is a Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned barbeque contest. You’ll want to click here to visit the Throwdown’s website and learn about the locations, the times, and most importantly, the barbeque.

Whether you choose to enjoy one or both of these events, Charleston is a great place to visit any day of the year. Its only about four hours away from Asheville and offers something to every traveler.
