Just east of Boone is the great city of Wilkesboro. At around two hours away it’s just a hop, skip, and a jump away. Plus there’s a ton of good stuff between here and there.
This is important to know since The Brushy Mountain Apple Festival is coming up this weekend. It’s a one day arts and crafts festival put on by the Brushy Mountain Ruritan Club in North Wilkesboro. Saturday the 5th is when over 400 vendors will gather to display their wares.
The event is gonna be a load of fun and you need to click here to visit the Festival’s website. That’s where you can jump to the head of the line, which is important since 160,000 people came last year. You also need to remember that you can have a great time on the way there and back again. As you consider going to the Festival just remember all the great stuff between here and there. Here’s a few that we’ve told you about before.
- Hickory, Granite Falls, and beyond
- Burke County Courthouse
- Glen Alpine
- Morganton’s Kala Gallery
- Downtown Morganton
- Hickory Museum of Art
- Hickory’s Union Square
