How do you get to Atlanta from Asheville If you’ve taken I-85 through Greenville then you’ve probably stopped at the I-85 Georgia Welcome Center. If you haven’t, then you should.
When you do you’ll discover that it’s more than just a great place to stretch your legs and grab a refreshment. It’s also a wonderful place to find out about what North Georgia has to offer.Don’t forget to get a photo op with the bulldog that was there the day I stopped.
North Georgia is a great place to visit and this is where you can find out about it. The towns and cities north of Atlanta host a range of festivals, parades, and events you just might want to come back to. The I-85 Welcome Center has all the information about them.
If you stop between 8:30 and 5:30 the Center staff will be glad to answer your questions. They’re there to make you visit to North Georgia —- and the entire state — awesome. They’ll connect you with the maps, brochures, and info you need.
North Georgia is a vibrant area full of factories and farms. We stopped at the Welcome Center on the way to Elberton — Granite capital of the World— but that is only one part of an area full of fun for the entire family. Here’s a few links where you can find out more.
