FESTIVAL WEDNESDAY: The Asheville Greek Festival Saved Me Time and Money.

By D. Lanier Shook                                    September 25, 2013

Have you done your Christmas shopping yet? Okay, don’t panic, there’s still plenty of time and I know just the place to get it done. This weekend you can head over to the Asheville Greek Festival and find anything you would want to give anyone for Christmas. That’s exactly what I did last year.

Last year I visited the Greek Festival and found these awesome olive wood crafts from Israel. My family was thrilled and I on Black Friday I was curled up with Season 2 of Fringe. (Or something like that.)

You need to click here to visit the Festival’s Facebook page or you can click here to visit the Holy Trinity Church’s Festival page. That’s where you can find the Festival’s hours and get directions to the church.

Here are my Four Essential Rules For The Greek Festival:

  1. You need to get there early to find parking (it will probably be street side).
  2. You need to be patient with other drivers.
  3. You need to plan to walk.
  4. You need to remember this is in a residential neighborhood where people live, so be nice to them, too.

This is a great opportunity to celebrate the Greek Culture and Civilization. We all owe them a huge debt for things like civilization, the Bible, awesome Greek mythology, incredible food, and so much more. I hope to see you there and happy shopping.
