Tomorrow night the Hop on Merrimon Avenue will give you a chance to have your own Comic-Con experience— only better. It’ll be better because its closer to home, it’ll be at the Hop, and the crowd will probably be friendlier. If you’re a fan of sci-fi, video games, or the Hop, this is where you need to be.
If you want to find out — about the Geek Meetup — then you need to be at The Hop on Merrimon Avenue tomorrow —Wednesday 18 — at 6 pm. For the next two hours you’ll get to enjoy the best Asheville has to offer in geeks, gamers, fanboys/girls, gamers, and other folks who know how to have a good time. This is a place where you can discuss your favorite sci-fi shows and nobody will act like you’re weird. (Which is why I probably need to be there.) You’ll also be able to enjoy Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo on a big screen, card games, board games, and the great food/drink the Hop always offer. Oh, and Tempus Fugit Design will be taking photos.
For even more information you’ll want to click here and visit Gamer Central’s Facebook page or you can click here to visit The Hop’s webpage to find out about their two incredible locations in the Asheville area. For more about Tempus Fugit Designs click here and check out their Facebook page.
NOTE: If the San Diego Comic Convention wants to convince me that Comic-Con is friendlier I’m inviting them to send me the following:
- round trip, first class airfare to San Diego
- paid lodging at the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego
- a fully paid limo to travel around town
- a awesome swag bag
Until then I’m going to say that Asheville’s Geek Meetup is friendlier than Comic-Con.
