You know the experience (or hopefully you don’t). You’ve got the perfect shot lined up. The light’s perfect, everybody looks great, and then it gets photo-bombed. A balloon floats by, a squirrel investigates the camera, or your cousin wanders by in their mascot uniform.
That’s what happened a few weeks ago when I was filming the geese at Lake Robinson. (It’s just north of Greer, South Carolina and you should click here to find out about it’s 800 acres of aquatic fun.) The geese were almost out of the frame when some local ducks decided it was their moment to shine. They raced into the picture and one of them decided to give a performance I wouldn’t forget.
