MONDAY SPORTS: What You Need To Know About Last Week In NASCAR

By D. Lanier Shook with Mike Runyon              August 5, 2013

This week we’re debuting a new weekly feature that will let you intelligently discuss NASCAR with your friends. You’ve met Mike Runyon before when we featured his box break videos. (Click here to read about Mike’s YouTube success.) You will be pleased to know that Mike will now be our NASCAR consultant, giving us what we need to know about the previous seven days on the race track.

Last week was interesting. Ryan Newman won the Brickyard 400 in Indianapolis. He’s a native of Indiana and went to school at Purdue. Congratulations to Mr. Newman.

On Sunday Kasey Kahne won at Pocono, with Hendricks Motorsports teammate Jeff Gordon coming in second, and Kurt Busch coming in at third. This is the 34th time that Hendricks has had two team members come in 1st and 2d. It also highlights Kurt Busch’s talent since his team is underfunded, especially compared to Hendricks.
