By D. Lanier Shook                            July 29,  2013

Burnsville, North Carolina is your gateway to Mount Mitchell and the mountain counties around it. The town is easy to get to since a four lane highway was built to its doorstep. Its the perfect destination for a daytrip out of Asheville, the Tri-Cities, or even the Upstate of South Carolina. These awesome murals are another big reason to visit the town.

This is a great mural facing the square.

This vintage mural is located on a street just off the Square.

This incredible mural reflects the importance of geology in Burnsville history and the town’s charm. It’s located about a block west of the Square.
