Old Fort, North Carolina is a great place to visit. You can click here to check out the photo essay of Old Fort we put up last year and now you can see some video from the area southwest of Old Fort. Some of you may have been to Catawba Falls, but now all of you can enjoy the springtime scenery on the trail there.
Our latest YouTube video is an old stone building on the trail to Catawba Falls with a rushing mountain stream below it. Click here to watch the video. It’s a peaceful addition to our collection of mountain stream videos.
If you are going to see Catawba Falls, keep in mind this is not a beginner hiking trail — at least I don’t think it is. There’s a great parking lot, but the trail is dirt and there is a steep bank you have to descend before you cross the rushing stream in the video. It’s very accessible, but if you’re not dressed appropriately and in good shape you won’t enjoy it as much. There are also snakes and bears in the area and as always DO NOT CLIMB THE WATEFALLS.
