This past week we all learned the Health Adventure will be closing. This wonderful institution has been part of our area for decades and it will be missed by everyone — even if they don’t realize it yet. It’s closure is a sad commentary on what our society places value on.
About a year ago I visited the Health Adventure and was overwhelmed by the value, the services, and the education they provided the community. You can click here to read the article about my visit which lists Five Reasons the Health Adventure will be missed. Sadly, this article only scratches the surface of what our area is losing.
If you’re interested in the details of the closure our local media has done a very good job of covering it.
- Click here to check out WLOS’ coverage. They had an awesome piece about the Health Adventure’s history at 11 on Tuesday.
- Click here to read what the Asheville Citizen Times had to say.
- Click here to read the Mountain Express article.
I’d also encourage you to click here to visit the Health Adventure’s home page.
