In about a month Morristown, Tennessee will host the Morristown Strawberry Festival. This is a week long event culminating in a day long celebration of music, arts, crafts, and fun. This year they’re adding a pageant, a 5K, and a mile long fun run. (The 5K and fun run benefit Habitat for Humanity.) This is a great way to explore this great town right between Asheville and Knoxville.
Of course the real delight is the week leading up to Saturday. The prior Saturday they’ll host a wine, strawberry, and chocolate tasting. They’ll be a Bridal Extravaganza at the Nolichucky Vineyard and on Wednesday the 10th you can enjoy a calorie free “Strawberry Jam” at the Fred Miller Park.
Morristown is a wonderful day trip destination for Asheville residents. The town has awesome shopping, a great atmosphere, and is close to so much more. It is literally right between Asheville and Knoxville.
Whether you intend to be in Morristown next month, I’m going to encourage you to click here and visit the Morristown Strawberry Festival website. After all, who doesn’t like strawberries?
