ARTS and ENTERTAINMENT: Bristol Music Events

In 1998 the U.S. Congress declared Bristol, Tennessee/Virginia to be the official Birthplace of Country Music. Since it’s just over an hour away, this is a great thing for folks who want to Travel Cheaper, Travel Better, and Travel More. Here’s what you need to know to enjoy the arts and entertainment scene in Bristol.

That’s where you find out where We Killed Vegas, The Secret B-Sides, George Johnson and the Sunshine Boys, Andy Crawford, James Meadows, and others will be playing in local venues around Bristol. They also have a link to a Bristol based Instrument Exchange, if you’re interested in it.

Second, go to the Birthplace of Country Music website by clicking here. If you’re a diehard country music fan you’ll want to learn about the Birthplace of Country Music Museum, read their blog, and buy merchandise. This includes a five CD set of the original Bristol Sessions dating back to 1927 and 1928.

Third, click here to visit the Bristol Convention and Visitor’s Bureau website where you can find out about everything going on in Bristol. This includes free concerts, The Bristol Rythym and Roots Reunion, The Paramount Center for the Arts, Theatre Bristol, The Barter Theater, and the city’s vibrant nightlife. Whew!
