ARTS and ENTERTAINMENT: Black Mountain Center for the Arts

The Asheville Area is blessed to have a vibrant arts community and nowhere is a better example than the Black Mountain Center for the Arts. This weekend is the start of a busy week for them. Although I’ll be telling you about what’s going on make certain to click here and visit their website. That’s where you’ll learn all about the events, exhibits, and classes they offer.

This Sunday the Center will have a Closing party for the exhibit Chasing the Image which features works by Madeline Lord and Sally Massengale. For all the details click here to visit the Center’s website.

On Saturday you can enjoy “An Evening with Will Straughan and Friends” for just $10. He’ll be joined by Natalya Weinstein, John CLoyd Miller, Jimmy Landry, Donna Marie Todd, Anna Claire McKay, and Laurel McKay. And there will be cake, so click here to find out more. Ten dollars isn’t a bad price for all that talent, especially since the guy plays the guitar, mandolin, and steel guitar.

Then the next Saturday, March Second, the Center has their 8th Annual Auction for the Arts at 6 p.m. Considering there are only 75 seats available click here to find out more.

While you’re there make certain to check out more about their exhibits, classes, stage performances and their 8th annual auction for the arts. While we’re on the subject I’m also going to suggest you click here to visit the Black Mountain-Swannanoa Chamber of Commerce. This is a rich area of the county with so much going on.
