The Rumbling Bald Resort on Lake Lure has a great Easter package that might be just what you’re looking for. Click here to learn about the four options available. They begin at $95 and allow access to all of the resort’s amenities. This is a good time to mention the Easter Sunrise Service at Chimney Rock Park. Click here to learn about this mountain tradition. With the price of gasoline heading up, both of these are great ways to make your Easter holiday special.
Now comes the part of the blog where I have to mention my favorite route to get to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. The most direct route is taking Highway 74 through Fairview to Bat Cave, Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. But this road is winding and not recommended for those prone to car sickness. The route I recommend involves driving to Hendersonville and taking Highway 64 through Edneyville to Bat Cave. When you cross the bridge in Bat Cave and intersect with 74 take a right and you’ll be in Chimney Rock. This takes a little longer, but its not nearly as winding.
If you’re coming north to Lake Lure try Highway 9 running up from Spartanburg. It takes even longer, but will run you through some great rural scenery. Its got a few hills and some curves aroudn Lake Lure, but its a very nice, relaxing drive.
Whether you take advantage of both opportunities or just one, have a safe and happy Easter season.
